Gus Ipul Proud of Improved Health and Achievements of Students at People's Schools

This was conveyed by Gus Ipul during the ‘Parents and Students Dialogue of People’s Schools’ event held at the Margo Laras Pati Centre, Central Java, on Friday (15/5). On this occasion, the Acting Regent of Pati, Risma Ardhi Chandra, also expressed her appreciation for the progress of the students.

“Overall, Alhamdulillah, it has been running well. There are developments that we can record as achievements. The children are also more comfortable. Then their physical health is improving, and they can participate in the scheduled learning process,” said Gus Ipul in a written statement, Friday (15/5/2026).

This development can be seen from the performance of students from the People’s Junior High School (SRMP) 12 Pati at the event. The students appeared confident when they performed in front of the participants. Some students performed cheers, delivered speeches in English and Arabic, sang in a choir, and recited poetry. One of the teachers also presented a simulation of learning at the People’s School.

During this event, Gus Ipul also had a dialogue with the parents of the students. One of them was Siti Jamaatik, the mother of Hidayatul Afifah.

Siti comes from Sumberejo Village. Her husband has passed away, and now she is the family’s breadwinner. Siti works as a caregiver for the elderly, earning Rp1.5 million per month.

With this income, Siti admits that she sometimes has difficulty meeting daily needs. She is grateful that her child can attend the People’s School.

“I am very grateful that my child can study at this People’s School,” said Siti.

Siti also said that she was impressed with the facilities at the People’s School. According to her, when her child is sick, they can receive good care. In addition, she is proud to see her child experiencing positive changes.

“(Now) she is polite, she is polite to everyone,” said Siti.

Gus Ipul added that Pati Regency is one of the areas that has the opportunity to have a permanent People’s School built. Currently, the construction progress has reached more than 50 percent.

The permanent building is targeted to accommodate a thousand students from elementary, junior high, and high school levels. The facilities are also equipped with student and teacher dormitories, a library, a laboratory, and sports facilities.

“This is a gift from Mr. President Prabowo for the families who are least able, families who are in the 1st decile (DTSEN) socio-economically,” said Gus Ipul.

Meanwhile, the Acting Regent of Pati, Risma Ardhi Chandra, said she was touched and proud to see children in Pati, especially from disadvantaged families, being able to receive education through People’s Schools.

“So, friends who are in the 1st decile DTSEN, they can now go to school and achieve their dreams for a very extraordinary school and a very productive school. Once again, we would like to thank you,” said Ardhi.

For information, the event was also attended by the Director General of Social Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Supomo, the Head of the Margo Laras Pati Centre, Bambang Tri Hartono, the Head of SRMP 12 Pati, Wulan Fitriyani, and other related officials. (akn/ega)
