Jakarta – Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf, known as Gus Ipul, has issued three directives to all Ministry of Social Affairs staff ahead of year-end. These are to present tangible achievements to the public on 20 October in support of the second anniversary of President Prabowo Subianto’s administration, ensure readiness for the inauguration of permanent Sekolah Rakyat buildings, and complete year-end targets through clean and timely procurement.

He delivered the directives while chairing an online leadership meeting on Monday (19 October 2026), attended by heads of centres, halls and Sekolah Rakyat schools across Indonesia. Gus Ipul called on all units to strengthen coordination and work in an integrated manner.

“On 20 October, every work unit must be present in the public arena with tangible achievements,” Gus Ipul said.

He asked all staff to help communicate the Ministry of Social Affairs’ work in support of the two years of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice-President Gibran Rakabuming Raka’s administration. Everyone was asked to contribute to disseminating information about programme achievements.

To support this publicity, each unit was asked to submit a performance summary. The information will then be presented in press releases and videos, using simple, factual narratives that relate to people’s everyday lives.

The second directive concerns preparations for the inauguration of permanent Sekolah Rakyat buildings. Gus Ipul said the event would showcase the ministry’s work, so preparations must be thorough.

“This is a showcase for the Ministry of Social Affairs’ work. There is still much to do, but this trust must be maintained, protected and strengthened,” he said.

In his third directive, Gus Ipul asked staff to use the remainder of the budget year to meet 2026 performance targets while also preparing to implement programmes in 2027. Efforts to accelerate budget absorption must be coordinated and monitored regularly.

“At year-end, targets must be met and the budget absorbed,” he said.

To carry out the three directives, Gus Ipul called on all work units to strengthen cooperation and set aside sectoral interests. He stressed that staff should take a proactive approach to meeting the targets set.

For the Sekolah Rakyat programme, he also asked each unit to work together in accordance with its role. He explained that the programme encompasses education, social rehabilitation and family empowerment, and therefore requires cross-unit involvement—from data collection and outreach to supporting pupils and their parents.
