Gus Ipul Invites Pesantren Caretakers to Support President's Priority Programmes
I wish to invite all the kiais to help update the data; this is the data updating process. If a kiai has students, and the students have information, please enter it into our data system,” said Gus Ipul in a written statement on Sunday (10/5/2026). He conveyed this at the Dialogue on Collaboration for the President’s Priority Programmes at the Auditorium of UIN Madura, Pamekasan, East Java, today. At the event, Gus Ipul arrived at the venue at 09:37 WIB, greeted by a joint performance from students of the 49 Sumenep Integrated People’s School (SRT) and the 29 Pamekasan First Middle People’s School (SRMP). The students appeared enthusiastic in delivering their best performances, ranging from hadroh, recitation of holy verses from the Al-Quran, speeches, choir, to poetry. On this occasion, teachers also demonstrated a simulation of digital learning models using a smart board. In his address, Gus Ipul explained the importance of data in implementing programmes, making the updating of the National Single Socio-Economic Data (DTSEN) essential to ensure accurate and targeted data. “Alhamdulillah, Pamekasan is one of the districts that cares about data,” he stated. Furthermore, Gus Ipul outlined that the data updating process can be done through two channels. First, the formal channel from RT/RW and the lurah or village head, then to the District/City Social Service and Province, and determined by the regional head. Second, the participatory channel accessible to anyone, via the Cek Bansos application, assistants, Command Centre, or WhatsApp Centre. On this occasion, Gus Ipul also invited all pesantren caretakers present to assist in implementing the People’s School programme, especially in Madura. “We ask for prayers and blessings for the implementation of the People’s School on Madura island; we ask for your accompaniment, suggestions, criticism, and input,” Gus Ipul expressed. Gus Ipul hopes that ulama and kiais will strengthen religious education in the People’s School by involving ustadz or religious teachers in student character development. “In the future, I want the Kyais to strengthen the boarding school aspect, where the boarding focuses on character building, and insya Allah, alternately, selected educational ustadz can fill in,” he added. Meanwhile, Pamekasan Regent Kholilurrahman stated that this event holds significant meaning as it becomes a real momentum for collaboration in supporting President Prabowo’s priority programmes, particularly in ensuring DTSEN becomes more accurate through data updating. “We all understand that the success of social assistance programmes and community empowerment greatly depends on one fundamental thing: valid data, fair data, and data that reflects the actual conditions of the community in the field,” said Kholilurrahman. As information, the event was attended by pesantren caretakers throughout Greater Madura. In addition, camats, lurahs/village heads, PKH assistants, village data operators, to representatives of Social Welfare Institutions were present.
