Secretary General of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board and Chairman of the 2026 NU Alim Ulama National Conference and Grand Conference Committee, KH Saifullah Yusuf, known as Gus Ipul, inspected the planned closing venue for the NU National Conference and Grand Conference at STAI Syaichona Moh. Cholil in Bangkalan today. During the visit, Gus Ipul toured the area to check the readiness of the event site, including tents erected to welcome invited guests. He also reviewed several points designated for guest arrival flow, security, and participant management. Gus Ipul engaged in direct discussions with Bangkalan Regent Lukman Hakim, Bangkalan Police Chief AKBP Wibowo, S.I.K., M.H., and the caretaker of Syaichona Moh. Cholil Islamic Boarding School, RKH Muhammad Nasih Aschal. Representatives from PCNU across Madura were also present to discuss the arrangement and tidying up of the STAI Syaichona Moh. Cholil area. According to Gus Ipul, all preparations must be carried out in detail because the closing of the NU National Conference and Grand Conference is planned to be attended by President Prabowo Subianto. “We want to ensure every point is ready, from the event location and the President’s arrival route to the flow of invited guests, security, and participant services. Everything must be well organised,” Gus Ipul said in a written statement on Friday (19/6/2026). After inspecting the location and engaging in dialogue with various parties, Gus Ipul proceeded to the Bangkalan Regency Hall to lead a coordination meeting on preparations for the closing of the NU National Conference and Grand Conference. The meeting was attended by Bangkalan Regent Lukman Hakim, Deputy Regent Moch. Fauzan Dja’far, Police Chief AKBP Wibowo, the Bangkalan Military District Commander, several relevant officials, and NU administrators from across Madura. During the coordination meeting, the committee, together with the local government, security forces, and NU elements, discussed in detail the scenario for welcoming the President. Matters of concern included the President’s arrival route, arrangements for VVIP and VIP guests, participant organisation, area security, tent readiness, road access, and facility support around the event site. Gus Ipul stressed that cross-party coordination is key to ensuring the entire closing series of the NU National Conference and Grand Conference proceeds in an orderly, smooth, and solemn manner. “This is not just about the technicalities of the event, but also about showing respect to the kiai, the participants, the guests, and of course to the President we have invited to the closing. Therefore, everything must be prepared as well as possible,” said Gus Ipul. He also expressed gratitude to the Bangkalan Regency Government, security forces, Syaichona Moh. Cholil Islamic Boarding School, the Ministry of Public Works, and all NU ranks in Madura who helped prepare the event. “Bangkalan is a very important place for NU. That is why we want the closing of the National Conference and Grand Conference here to be a good, orderly, and blessed moment,” Gus Ipul concluded.
