Gus Ipul Inspects Venue for 2026 NU Conference Closing in Bangkalan

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Saifullah Yusuf, known as Gus Ipul, the Secretary General of the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Executive Board and Chairman of the 2026 NU National Conference of Alim Ulama and Grand Conference (Munas-Konbes) Organising Committee, inspected the planned closing venue at STAI Syaichona Moh. Cholil in Bangkalan on Friday. “We want to ensure every point is ready. From the event location, the arrival route for the President, the flow for invited guests, security, to participant services. Everything must be well organised,” Gus Ipul stated, as quoted from a written statement received in Jakarta on Friday. After inspecting the location and engaging in dialogue with various parties, Gus Ipul proceeded to the Bangkalan Regency Hall to lead a coordination meeting for the closing preparations. The meeting was attended by Bangkalan Regent Lukman Hakim, Deputy Regent Moch Fauzan Dja’far, Bangkalan Police Chief AKBP Wibowo, the Bangkalan Military District Commander, several relevant officials, and NU administrators from across Madura. Gus Ipul stressed that cross-party coordination is key to ensuring the entire closing series of the NU Munas-Konbes proceeds in an orderly, smooth, and solemn manner. “This is not just about the technicalities of the event, but also about showing respect to the kiai, the participants, the guests, and of course to the President whom we have invited to attend the closing. Therefore, everything must be prepared as well as possible,” said the figure who also serves as Minister of Social Affairs. He expressed gratitude to the Bangkalan Regency Government, security forces, the Syaichona Moh Cholil Islamic Boarding School, the Ministry of Public Works, and all NU ranks in Madura who assisted in preparing the event. “Bangkalan is a very important place for NU. Therefore, we want the closing of the Munas-Konbes here to be a good, orderly moment that brings blessings,” he remarked. The 2026 National Conference of Alim Ulama and NU Grand Conference is part of the stages of the Islamic organisation’s activities leading towards the NU Congress, with the entire implementation carried out in a gradual and sustainable manner.
