Gus Ipul Finalises NU National Conference and Congress Plans at Al Falah Ploso Islamic Boarding School
The Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) executive board is finalising preparations for the National Conference of Religious Scholars (Munas) and Grand Conference (Konbes), set to be held at Al Falah Islamic Boarding School in Ploso Village, Mojo District, Kediri Regency, East Java, on 20-21 June 2026. PBNU Secretary-General Saifullah Yusuf stated that intensive communication is ongoing between the PBNU and Al Falah Kediri Islamic Boarding School, as the host venue for the conference and grand congress. ‘We are very grateful to all the Gus-Gus here, all the students here who have prepared well, and this certainly eases the burden on the Nahdlatul Ulama executive board. We also ask for prayers that all processes will run smoothly, and we are currently finalising all technical preparations,’ he said at the Al Falah Islamic Boarding School in Kediri Regency. He also confirmed that he came with several PBNU officials, including the Rais ‘Aam, to finalise the event’s preparations at the Al Falah Islamic Boarding School in Kediri Regency. He expressed gratitude as the boarding school has been highly supportive of the event. Facilities and infrastructure are also ready, including other necessary support to ensure the success of the activity. He expressed hope that the event would proceed in an orderly and smooth manner. The forum will also discuss preparations for the congress (muktamar), scheduled for August 2026. ’We ask for prayers and blessings from all Nahdlatul Ulama congregations and the entire Indonesian public, so that the process leading to the congress this coming August will be smooth and full of blessings. I think that is the most important thing. The congress itself will be discussed during the national conference and grand conference,’ said Gus Ipul, his familiar nickname. He added that the location for the congress remains undecided because it will be discussed during the national conference and grand conference. However, several regions have expressed their readiness to host. ‘Following requests from several regions that are prepared to host the congress, we will discuss this at the upcoming national conference and grand conference,’ he said. The activity was also attended by PBNU Rais ’Aam KH Miftachul Akhyar, Deputy Rais ’Aam PBNU KH Anwar Iskandar, and several other board members.
