Gus Ipul Confirms Rp 435.3 Billion Post-Disaster Aid for Sumatra to Commence Distribution
The Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs, Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul), has confirmed that living allowance (jadup) and household contents assistance for communities affected by disasters in Sumatra, totalling Rp 435,327,550,000, has been disbursed and is ready for distribution through PT Pos Indonesia.
The assistance is intended for disaster-affected populations across six regencies and cities, namely Langsa City, North Aceh Regency, Nagan Raya Regency, Central Tapanuli Regency, North Tapanuli Regency, and Lima Puluh Kota Regency.
“Today, the living allowance and household contents assistance for six regencies/cities in Sumatra has been disbursed. The total is Rp 435.3 billion and is ready to be distributed through PT Pos to the eligible community members,” said Gus Ipul in a written statement on Saturday (19/09/2026).
Gus Ipul made these remarks during his visit to the Sekolah Rakyat in Ngawi on Saturday (19/09).
Of the total assistance, Rp 322.827 billion is allocated for household contents for 107,609 families (KK), while Rp 112.500 billion is provided as a living allowance for 83,333 individuals.
The largest portion of the aid is allocated to North Aceh Regency, with a total of Rp 328.456 billion, consisting of Rp 305.7 billion for household contents for 101,900 families and Rp 22.756 billion for living allowances for 16,857 individuals.
Furthermore, Central Tapanuli Regency will receive Rp 72.977 billion, Langsa City Rp 32.674 billion, Nagan Raya Regency Rp 398.7 million, North Tapanuli Regency Rp 267.45 million, and Lima Puluh Kota Regency Rp 553.15 million.
Gus Ipul stated that this disbursement is part of the government’s efforts to accelerate the recovery of community life following the disasters. The living allowance is aimed at supporting basic needs, while the household contents assistance helps affected families restock their essential household items.
“Now that the funds have been disbursed, the most important thing is to ensure that the aid reaches the recipients immediately and that its benefits are truly felt,” said Gus Ipul.
According to Gus Ipul, the Ministry of Social Affairs will continue to coordinate with local governments and relevant parties to ensure the distribution process is orderly and accurately targeted.
“The government assists not only when a disaster occurs, but also accompanies the community until they can reorganise their lives. We hope this assistance serves as a strength for affected families to rise and start anew,” he concluded.
