The former Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the 35th NU Muktamar, Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul), has asserted that no corruption funds from the Ministry of ATR/BPN entered the NU Muktamar committee. He also refuted rumours linking the case involving Minister of ATR/BPN Nusron Wahid to the financing of the NU Muktamar.

As the former Chairman of the Committee, Gus Ipul stated that he is well-acquainted with the organisational and financing processes of the Muktamar, including the 35th NU Muktamar which took place at the Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas Islamic Boarding School, Jombang, from 27–31 August 2026.

“As the Chairman of the Committee, I can ensure there is no connection between the case currently being widely discussed and the Muktamar. I assure you that no such connection exists,” Gus Ipul said in a written statement on Thursday (17/9/2026).

This statement was issued in response to developing information linking alleged corruption within the ATR/BPN environment to the funding of the Muktamar activities. He requested that the public refrain from drawing conclusions before official facts and explanations are provided by law enforcement agencies.

“I hope that opinions are not formed suggesting there is a link to the Muktamar, the Muktarium participants, or any fund flows related to the Muktamar. Let us simply await the official explanation from the KPK,” he said.

Gus Ipul emphasised that the PBNU respects the ongoing legal process. He noted that the KPK must be given the opportunity to work professionally to uncover the case based on evidence and legal facts.

“We entrust this to the KPK. We believe the KPK will work professionally and in accordance with existing regulations. We fully respect and support this,” he added.

Furthermore, Gus Ipul requested that the public avoid spreading unverified information regarding the alleged fund flows. He urged the community not to rush to conclusions implying that the NU Muktamar was financed by corrupt proceeds.

“As far as I know, I can assure you there is no connection to the Muktamar. Let us follow this legal process together. We must not add to the noise with opinions that do not align with the facts, especially when linked to the Muktamar,” he asserted.

According to Gus Ipul, the 35th NU Muktamar was successfully completed and the entire process followed the organisation’s established mechanisms. Therefore, he requested that all parties refrain from raising undue speculation.

“The Muktamar has proceeded well. Do not link it to inappropriate matters,” he concluded.
