Gus Ipul Appreciates Pidie Jaya Regency for Sumatra Disaster Management

The Minister of Social Affairs, Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ilev), expressed his appreciation to the Pidie Jaya Regency Government, Aceh Province, for collaborating with the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) to provide verified data. This data was utilised in the management and post-disaster recovery efforts in the Sumatra region recently.

“I am grateful to the Regent (of Pidie Jaya) who has worked with us to provide verified data that accurately reflects the situation on the ground. It is not easy and requires time, but this is a necessary process to ensure that assistance truly reaches those affected,” said Gus Ipul in a statement on Friday (18/9/2026).

Gus Ipul made these remarks during an audience with the Regent of Pidie Jaya, Sibral Malasyi, at the Ministry of Social Affairs office in Jakarta on Thursday (17/9).

Gus Ipul explained that the process of distributing post-disaster assistance indeed requires time.

“Alhamdulillah, that entire process has been undertaken. The two stages submitted to us have been verified; some have already been distributed, while the remainder is still in progress and requires more time,” he added.

The post-disaster assistance for Sumatra is a priority of President Prabowo Subianto, with the hope that affected families can recover and achieve a better quality of life than before the disaster.

“Once again, I recognise that Pidie Jaya Regency is among the leaders in addressing the impacts of this disaster. This serves as a lesson for us in the future on how to protect our environment and how to mitigate or prevent disasters from occurring,” he stated.

At the same venue, Sibral expressed his appreciation to President Prabowo Subito and all levels of Ministries and Agencies that have worked to assist in disaster management, particularly in Pidie Jaya Regency.

“Alhamdulillah, today the people of Pidie Jaya are continuously striving to be better and to develop from the challenges faced during the post-disaster period a few months ago,” said Sibral.

He further noted that the data regarding disaster victims receiving post-disaster assistance in Pidie Jaya has been completed and verified by the Pidie Jaya Regency Government.

“We hope that this data, once submitted, can be re-verified, validated, and identified to ensure no errors occur during the distribution process,” he concluded.
