The results of the PBNU plenary meeting have instructed that the Muktamar be held promptly in August 2026. Therefore, the Muktamar is mandatory in August,” said Gus Ipul, who has also been appointed as Chairman of the NU Muktamar Committee, in a written statement on Sunday (3/5/2026).

According to Gus Ipul, the directive to accelerate the Muktamar’s implementation has also been conveyed by the Rais Aam of PBNU, KH Miftachul Akhyar. The Rais Aam has ordered that the Muktamar be conducted at the beginning of August.

Gus Ipul explained that preparations for the Muktamar are being continuously refined. The Muktamar Committee has already been established. Similarly, participation from branches and regions is also ready.

He added that the decisions or SKs for the administration of PCNU and PWNU that meet the requirements have also been completed. These SKs will be finalised this month.

“The SKs for administration, both PCNU and PWNU that meet the requirements, have all been signed this month,” he stated.

Before the Muktamar, PBNU will also hold the National Deliberation or Munas and the Grand Conference or Konbes. Gus Ipul mentioned that the Munas and Konbes will be conducted at the latest one month before the August 2026 Muktamar.

“The Muktamar will be preceded by the Munas and Konbes. Insha’Allah, they will be held at the latest one month before August. The committees for them have already been formed and structured, just awaiting official SKs from PBNU,” he revealed.

Gus Ipul emphasised that all organisational processes in NU must be carried out honestly, sincerely, openly, and in accordance with the rules. According to him, managing NU is not merely about positions or interests, but a path to seeking blessings.

“In NU, we seek blessings. Therefore, it must be done honestly, sincerely, and openly. If it is taken lightly, the blessings will be lost, and the affairs will become even more difficult,” said Gus Ipul.

He called on all NU officials at various levels to maintain their intentions, strengthen unity, and follow all organisational stages properly.

“NU is great because of the sincerity of the kiai, the masyayikh, and all its officials. So, let us safeguard this organisation in the right way, openly, and with full responsibility,” he said.

Gus Ipul also asked NU members and officials not to easily believe hoaxes or untrue information regarding the process of signing the administrative SKs.

“Do not believe hoaxes. There are those who say I refuse to sign, whereas I do not sign those that do not meet the requirements. All that meet the requirements have been signed by me. The written evidence has been fully reported during the joint PBNU meeting,” Gus Ipul concluded.
