Former president Abdurrahman "Gus Dur" Wahid was discharged from Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital on Sunday afternoon, 10 days after he was admitted there on July 29.
The former president returned home in the company of his wife Sinta Nuriyah and relatives, Gus Dur's spokesman Adhi Massardi told Antara on Sunday night.
Gus Dur was admitted at the hospital on July 29 due to blood pressure fluctuations, said Adhi.
Gus Dur's blood pressure fluctuated between 105 and 170. Normal blood pressure ranges between 70 and 120.
Adhi blamed exhaustion for the blood pressure fluctuations. Before he fell ill, Gus Dur had been on a trip out of town. He had also been busy meeting politicians.
On Aug. 4, the day he turned 60, his condition had improved but his doctors advised him to spend several more days to rest, said Adhi.
"Actually Gus Dur wanted to go home on Aug. 5, but his doctors, led by Umar Wahid (his brother), advised against it," he added.
Awaiting him at home is a busy schedule and on Monday Gus Dur is slated to lead a mass prayer for victims of the JW Marriott Hotel bombing.
