Gus Dur cracks joke on Hamzah Haz

SURABAYA: Abdurrahman Wahid alias Gus Dur, a former president of
Indonesia, is widely known as a funny guy. Gus Dur, who is head
of patron board at the National Awakening Party (PKB), again
established his title in the last round of PKB's campaign in
Sidoarjo, East Java province.

In the campaign, he commented on the television ads presenting
Hamzah Haz, the chairman of the United Development Party (PPP)
and also currently the vice president of Indonesia.

According to Gus Dur, if the election is delayed after April 5
due to poor logistic preparations, Hamzah will be a person
confused over the delay.

"Hamzah has already campaigned in the ads that people shall
vote No. 5 (PPP election number) on April 5. On April 5,
perforate number 5, he asserts repeatedly. If the poll is delayed
after April 5, it means that people shall not need to perforate
the number 5...ha..ha...," according to Gus Dur, followed by clap
by his followers. PPP is traditional rival of PKB. -- JP
