Gus Dur-Bagir talk not scheduled yet

JAKARTA: The Supreme Court has not made any schedule this week for a meeting between former president Abdurrahman "Gus Dur" Wahid and Chief Justice Bagir Manan despite the former's claim that he would meet the judge to talk about his judicial review over health requirements for presidential and vice presidential candidates.

Bagir is expected to arrive from the Netherlands on Friday afternoon and has no schedule to meet Gus Dur. He is not working on Saturday and Sunday.

Visually impaired Gus Dur, who has been nominated by the National Awakening Party (PKB), is seeking to overturn a verdict issued by a Supreme Court panel of judges subjecting presidential and vice presidential candidates to a stringent medical test to determine their overall state of health. --JP
