Gunung Agung village unsafe

Gunung Agung village unsafe

From Merdeka

Crime is rife in Gunung Agung village, Central Lampung regency, Sumatra. My mother's house was robbed recently. My mother, who is a widow, lives with my sister, Erna Setiawati.

Armed masked robbers forced entry into the house by breaking the front window in the early hours on April 1. After hitting both my mother and sister in the face, the robbers stole all their money and ornaments and fled. My mother was too frightened to shout for help. The next day the police came to the house after my sister reported the incident.

My mother had started a small business with a loan from BRI bank. She now has difficulty repaying the debt after the robbery. She feels that Gunung Agung village is no longer safe for her to live in and is reluctantly considering my suggestion of selling her property and moving to a safer place in Java.
