PDI Perjuangan politician, Mohamad Guntur Romli, has accused Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya of deliberately misleading the public regarding claims made about the results of President Prabowo Subianto’s working visits abroad. Guntur believes that Teddy’s information regarding President Prabowo’s visits to Japan and South Korea directly resulting in Rp57<0xA0>trillion in investment is inaccurate.

Responding to Teddy’s statements, Guntur stated via his X account, @GunRomli, that the Cabinet Secretary’s claims were not merely an overclaim, but a deliberate attempt to mislead the public. He pointed out that while Teddy claimed the visits to Japan and South Korea yielded Rp575 trillion in investment, these figures only represent investment commitments and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) that have yet to be realised. According to Guntur, these figures have not yet been recorded as realised investment by the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM).

Guntur further alleged that Teddy is attempting to blur the distinction between commitments and realisation, and is even attempting to attribute Domestic Investment (PMDN) as a result of foreign diplomacy to create a glittering political narrative. He emphasised that the public deserves honest facts rather than misleading, bombastic statements.

Previously, Cabinet Secretary Teddy addressed criticisms from former Deputy Foreign Minister Dino Patti Djalal regarding the frequency of President Prabowo’s international visits. Teddy maintained that Prabowo’s various international trips have yielded concrete benefits for Indonesia. He cited BKPM data showing that total investment into Indonesia over the last eighteen months reached approximately Rp2,430 trillion, and specifically mentioned that last month’s visits to Japan and South Korea generated new investment worth approximately Rp575 trillion.
