Guntur bridge closed

The Jakarta Land Transport Control Agency hereby announces
that the Guntur bridge will be closed completely. The decision
was made on the grounds that the bridge is too dangerous to
accommodate public transportation.

Beginning Sept. 16, 1994 traffic from Jl. Sultan Agung to Jl.
Cik Ditiro, which used to pass this bridge, is being diverted to
the Halimun bridge on Jl. Latuharhari. And on Sept. 19, 1994 the
Kampung Melayu flyover will be opened on a trial basis.

The traffic flow from Jl. Jatinegara Timur heading toward
Lapangan Roos/Casablanca, which previously passed traffic lights
at the bus terminal crossroads at Kampung Melayu now must first
turn to the left using the flyover.
