Guns and
Guns and
juveniles
From Neraca
Juvenile delinquency, in all its forms, has been increasing
and has now reached an intolerable condition.
Recently, a senior high school student accidentally shot his
friend to death while they played with a gun made in a gun
factory in Cipacing, West Java. And also another victim had to
die for nothing because he became a target of a group of
youngsters who played with guns while racing their motorbikes at
high speed.
Teachers reject blame for such naughtiness because it usually
occurs outside of school hours. Unfortunately their parents make
excuses and admit that their jobs and social activities rob them
of most of their time.
The lack of love and control from their parents is not the
only reason these children become delinquents.
I think the factory in Cipacing, West Java deserves blame
because they do not carefully screen their buyers, so the
students are easily able to acquire guns.
This is time to pay more attention to the students before
things go from bad to worse.
