Gunawan draws with Murshed

JAKARTA (JP): Indonesian FIDE Master Ruben Gunawan succeeded
in forcing Bangladeshi Grand Master Niaz Murshed to accept a draw
in the first round of the Grand Master International Tournament
in Dacca on Saturday.

The other Indonesian chess player at the tournament, Grand
Master Edhi Handoko, won over India's International Master V.
Koshy, at the Enerpac chess school, where Ruben works, Antara
reported yesterday.

There are 14 participants from eight countries taking part in
the tournament, including Grand Master Grigory Serper from
Uzbekistan, Grand Master Stuart Qonquest from England and Grand
Master Mikhail Krasenkov from Russia. (arf)
