Gulf updates Bukit Tua-1 oil
CALGARY (Dow Jones): A test of perforations between 6,346 and 6,386 feet on the Bukit Tua-1 oil discovery flowed at a stabilized rate of about 4,450 barrels of oil a day through a one-inch choke.
The well is in the Ketapang Production Sharing Contract offshore East Java.
In a news release, Gulf Indonesia Resources Ltd., which holds a 50 percent working interest in the Ketapang PSC, said these are the results of a second test on the well.
The oil and gas company said the initial test of a cased interval between 6,466 and 6,488 feet flowed at a stabilized rate of about 2,800 b/d through a one-inch choke.
The combined flow rate of 7,250 b/d from the tests of two zones in the Bukit Tua-1 well "demonstrates the quality of the prospects in this block and we are planning further testing on shallower zones in the well," it said.
