Guidelines for Jakarta's 499th Anniversary Eve Celebration Tomorrow
The Jakarta Provincial Government has issued a guide for the public attending the peak night celebration of the city’s 499th anniversary. The guidelines outline permitted activities and a list of prohibitions during the event on Saturday (27/6/2026).
According to the official Instagram account @dkijakarta, attendees are allowed to do the following: ensure they are healthy and not exhibiting any symptoms of illness; wear comfortable clothing and footwear; maintain the cleanliness of the venue; bring their own reusable shopping bags; and use public transport to reach the location.
The list of prohibitions includes: littering; bringing single-use bottled water; carrying sharp weapons, firearms, or illegal drugs; bringing pets; committing acts of vandalism; and shouting hate speech, political or campaign-related messages, or content related to ethnicity, religion, race, and inter-group relations (SARA).
Recommendations for visitors include bringing their own drinking bottles, bringing their own shopping bags to avoid single-use plastics, bringing reusable cutlery, and disposing of waste according to its type.
In conjunction with the anniversary, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is also offering a discounted public transport fare of Rp1. The promotion is valid for two days over the weekend, on Saturday, 27 June and Sunday, 28 June 2026. The Rp1 fare applies to Transjakarta BRT, Transjakarta Non-BRT, Transjabodetabek, MRT Jakarta, and LRT Jakarta on the Velodrome-Pegangsaan Dua route. The terms and conditions state that the promotion is open to all users without being restricted to DKI Jakarta ID card holders. Payment can be made using electronic money cards such as e-Money, Flazz, TapCash, Brizzi, JakLingko Card, Multi Trip Card (KMT), and JakCard, as well as through the JakLingko and MyMRTJ applications. Mikrotrans services, Transjakarta Cares, and free services for certain communities will continue to operate at a Rp0 fare in accordance with applicable regulations.
