One of the benefits for national internship participants is the monthly allowance, which is paid for a maximum of six months.

According to official information from the Ministry of Manabilities (Kemnaker), here is how to calculate the national internship allowance:

Allowance amount = (Number of days attended divided by the established allowance amount) multiplied by the total number of internship days in one month.

Example calculation:

Fixed allowance: Rp 5,729,876 per month (based on 2026 DKI Jakarta Minimum Wage)

Total internship days: 22 days

Within one month:

  • 2 days of sick leave with a doctor’s note → allowance is not deducted

  • 2 days of unexcused absence → allowance is deducted (2 days x Rp 260,449 = Rp 520,898)

This means the calculated attendance is 20 days.

Final allowance received:

20/22 x Rp 5,729,876 = Rp 5,208,978

Important Provisions:

  • The allowance amount refers to the minimum wage at the internship location.

  • National holidays, regional holidays, and collective leave days do not result in allowance deductions.

  • Unexcused absences result in a daily deduction from the allowance.

  • If a participant leaves the programme mid-way, the allowance is paid according to the number of days attended.

  • Allowance payments for December will be processed in January of the following year.

  • Tax regulations follow the prevailing laws.

Is it Permissible to Resign from the National Internship?

National internship participants may submit a resignation, provided they meet the applicable regulations. The process is as follows:

  2. Complete Resignation Data: Provide the reason and the effective date of resignation, then upload a stamped resignation letter.

  3. Note the Effective Date: From the effective date of resignation, participants can no longer submit daily reports.

  4. Cancelling a Resignation: Cancellation requires approval from both the Mentor and the Organising Admin before the effective date. If no approval or rejection is received by the effective date, the resignation status will be automatically approved by the system.
