Guests at 81st Indonesian Independence Day Ceremony Receive Two Souvenir Bags
Two souvenir bags were given to invited guests attending the Proclamation Seconds ceremony for the 81st Indonesian Independence Day at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta. The brown and white bags contained various items, ranging from breakfast to books and towels.
According to detikcom’s observations at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Monday (17/8/2026), thousands of invited guests had been arriving since 06.00 WIB. Guests arrived carrying blue invitations as a sign of official invitation.
One of the invited guests was Ravenska Grace, a 12-year-old girl from Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara. Grace attended for the first time after being invited to take part in the ceremony at the Palace.
“Nervous but very happy,” Grace said describing her feelings, as quoted from detikNews.
Grace received souvenirs in the form of brown and white bags. The brown bag appeared to be made from burlap sack material.
The brown bag contained breakfast food and drinks for the invited guests in attendance. The food included light snacks and isotonic drinks.
Similar joy was expressed by a female guest named Refi. Attending with her husband, Refi came from Malang.
“Last year I had already attended (the ceremony at the Palace),” she said.
Refi also received two souvenir bags, one brown and one white. The white souvenir bag contained a book, mug, clothing and a towel.
Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi had previously confirmed preparations for the 81st Indonesian Independence Day ceremony. The Palace was ready to hold the commemoration of the Proclamation Seconds of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia on 17 August 2026.
“Yes, God willing, 99 per cent, the remaining 1 per cent we all surrender to the Almighty. But God willing, bismillah,” Pras told reporters at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Saturday (15/8).
“All elements will perform as planned to be presented on 17 August during the commemoration ceremony of the Proclamation Seconds of the Independence of our Republic of Indonesia. From the evaluation results, we can convey that God willing, we are ready for Monday to give the best to all Indonesian people,” he continued.
