Guess What? Laksamana Sukardi

Laksamana Sukardi looked proud, amused and relaxed all at the same time on August 22 during a private function where his father, Gandhi Sukardi, was receiving an Award from the Indonesian Museum of Records for being the most published letter writer in The Jakarta Post.

Laksamana, who obviously inherited his father's flair for writing, appears to be the antithesis of his father Gandhi, who is impulsive and comical.

But Laks, as he is fondly called, privately confessed that he is very proud of his father, especially for the honor he received today.

Gandhi, who is not known for keeping his thoughts private, nonetheless let out a secret during his thank-you speech. He did not believe that Laks actually had read the award-winning letters, to which Laks, in his inimical way, only smiled somewhat guiltily.

Now, the former state minister of investment/state enterprises development is starting an online news, current affairs and analyses service. So watch out detik.com, astaga.com and other established news services, here comes laksamana.net! But don't forget to set aside a page or two for father Gandhi. (Dewi Anggraeni)
