Guess where Guntur Soekarno celebrated his silver wedding anniversary last weekend.

Not in the usual hotel ballroom or a restaurant, but in a pub.

Guntur's daughter, Puti, organized the party at Pete's Tavern Pub in Central Jakarta.

This year Guntur, a son of former president Sukarno, celebrated his wedding anniversary twice. He had the first party with his family and close relatives early this year. The second party was held because many of his friends complained they had not been invited to the first occasion.

Guntur married Henny on Feb. 14, 1970.

"I did not know that it (Feb.14) was the Valentine's Day," he said.

The 51-year-old was busy welcoming the guests and was therefore not in the mood to answer questions from journalists.

"No comment," he said when asked about the gifts he and his wife exchanged.

His wife also refused to comment on the presents.

She smiled and said: "Please, have something to eat."

She was right. It was time to have fun, drink and eat, not ask questions. (sim)
