Guangdong Products Go Global: "Zhongshan Products in Malaysia" Event Officially Debuts Overseas
Kuala Lumpur (ANTARA)—The main gateway for the “Guangdong Products Go Global: Zhongshan Products in Malaysia” event opened in Kuala Lumpur on 25 April 2026. On the morning of 25 April, the China (Zhongshan)–Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) Investment Promotion and Exchange Conference, along with the “Guangdong Products Go Global: Zhongshan Products in Malaysia” event, was officially opened at Pavilion Bukit Jalil. This is the first time the Guangdong Goods Go Global initiative has been held overseas in the form of a direct offline exhibition and sales since its launch. “Guangdong Goods Go Global” sets sail overseas: Zhongshan’s flagship products captivate Kuala Lumpur. Carrying the theme “Premium Zhongshan Products, Trade Connecting Southeast Asia”, this two-day event features a high-standard offline exhibition and sales area for Zhongshan’s flagship products, focusing on major categories such as smart home appliances, lighting fixtures, locks and hardware, daily necessities, smart equipment, and smart physiotherapy robots. More than 70 quality companies from Zhongshan, including TCL, Changhong, and Vatti, are displaying over 300 flagship products at the event. Over 20 companies are participating in on-site direct sales, while 30 companies are joining the exhibition, creating a combination of sales and promotion to drive brand strengthening and market expansion. With 11 standard booths and 9 special booths, the event forms a themed exhibition area “Zhongshan Intelligent Manufacturing”. In addition, special exhibition panels themed “Charm of Zhongshan” and “Zhongshan Cultural Tourism” are installed to showcase the strength of Zhongshan’s manufacturing industry, city development, and the unique cultural and tourism characteristics of the city originating from many overseas Chinese. This exhibition and sales builds a comprehensive marketing system that synergises domestic and international operations and coordinates various platforms, thus generating strong synergy between online and offline channels. Shopee, Malaysia’s leading e-commerce platform, was invited to engage in direct dialogue with participating companies, introducing platform services, onboarding policies, and distribution channel resources. During the event, the establishment of the “Malaysia (Johor Bahru)–China (Zhongshan) Centre for High-Quality Flagship Products Trade” in Malaysia was announced, accompanied by a plaque handover ceremony to two Zhongshan-origin companies. This step signifies that Zhongshan companies now have a forward base in Malaysia for regular exhibitions, sales, and ongoing business matchmaking. The event not only showcases Zhongshan products but also the supporting industrial ecosystem and business environment. The Zhongshan Investment Promotion Bureau presented the city’s business environment at the event and appointed a representative from the Malaysian business community as an investment advisor for Zhongshan. This not only opens opportunities for Zhongshan’s local manufacturing industry to expand into the global market through trade cooperation but also provides foreign investors with a comprehensive picture of Zhongshan’s business environment quality. “More business players are optimistic about Zhongshan’s industrial advantages and supply chain and come to visit Zhongshan after seeing its products,” said Jiang Ji, Secretary of the Zhongshan Investment Promotion Bureau Party. He added that Zhongshan has innovated its investment promotion mechanism by leveraging the roles of Chinese embassies and consulates, business institutions, and major overseas Chinese diaspora companies through the Guangdong Goods Go Global platform. This approach not only enables Zhongshan products to confidently step into the global market but also attracts waves of overseas Chinese entrepreneurs from Southeast Asia to return and invest, thereby continuously strengthening foreign investment in Zhongshan. The event is believed to promote the transformation of relations between Zhongshan and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations from mere commodity trade to two-way investment, industrial synergy, and long-term mutually beneficial cooperation. This step will help more Zhongshan flagship products enter the Southeast Asian market while encouraging more Southeast Asian companies to invest in Zhongshan, thus forming a positive cycle in economic and trade relations.
