JAKARTA – The peak of the Eid al-Fitr homecoming traffic in East Java is marked by high vehicle volumes heading to Malang. PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) recorded that on 22 March 2026, 42,460 vehicles passed through the Kejapanan Main Toll Gate (GT) towards Malang. This figure represents the highest traffic volume during the homecoming period. Compared to normal conditions, the number increased significantly by 60.88% from 26,393 vehicles. Moreover, this traffic realisation also exceeded the set projection of 41,166 vehicles, or 3.14% higher. “GT Kejapanan has become one of the points with the most dominant traffic movement. JTT, together with stakeholders, continues to ensure optimal operational services through maximum gate operations and intensive coordination in the field to maintain smooth vehicle flow,” said Ria, in an official statement on Monday (23/3/2026). In line with this situation, JTT advises road users to plan their journeys well, including avoiding peak homecoming hours. Drivers are also reminded to maintain their physical condition during the trip and to obey traffic signs and instructions from officers on the ground for collective safety. For information, road users can obtain the latest traffic updates through Jasa Marga’s One Call Center at number 133 as well as the Travoy application available on iOS and Android.
