Grundfos relocates plant

JAKARTA (JP): PT Grundfos Pompa, an Indonesian-Danish pump manufacturing company, has relocated its plant from the Nusantara bonded area near Tanjung Priok port to the Pulogadung industrial estate in line with its new policy that emphasizes on the domestic market.

The new plant in the Pulogadung area, which will be inaugurated on Thursday, will market 75 percent of its water pumps on the domestic market and the other 25 percent on the export market.

The company said yesterday that the shift in its marketing target was prompted by the sharp increase in Indonesia's demand for submersible pumps.

The Grunfos group started production in Indonesia in 1989 with an annual capacity of 19,000 pumps.(yns)
