JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The economy’s liquidity, or broad money supply (M2), grew positively in February 2026.

Executive Director of the BI Communications Department, Ramdan Denny Prakoso, stated that the M2 position in February 2026 was recorded at Rp 10,089.9 trillion.

“Or growing by 8.7 per cent year-on-year (yoy), after growing by 10.0 per cent year-on-year (yoy) in January 2026,” he said in an official statement on Friday (27/3/2026).

Denny explained that the development of the broad money supply (M2) in February 2026 was mainly influenced by net claims on the Central Government (Pempus) and credit disbursements.

Net claims on the central government grew by 25.6 per cent year-on-year (yoy). This figure increased compared to the growth in January 2026 of 22.6 per cent year-on-year (yoy).

Meanwhile, credit disbursements in February 2026 grew by 8.9 per cent year-on-year (yoy). This movement continued the credit growth in January 2026 of 10.2 per cent year-on-year.

In addition, the credit provided does not include credit extended by branches of general banks domiciled abroad, and credit extended to the central government and non-residents.
