Growth of Premium Areas Opens Great Opportunities for Air Conditioning Industry
The growth of premium residential areas and new business centres from BSD to Cisauk is driving an increased need for high-end air conditioning solutions. Recognising this market potential, PT Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia (DAIKIN), in collaboration with PT Alvamega Mitra Abadi, has inaugurated its newest Daikin Proshop Showroom at The Icon Business Park, BSD, Tangerang.
This showroom marks Daikin’s 43rd Proshop in Indonesia and the 6th in the Tangerang region. Its presence reinforces competition within the premium air conditioning market, which continues to expand alongside the increasing development of modern residential and commercial buildings in the Jakarta satellite areas.
“This inauguration is a tangible manifestation of our steps to continue expanding the marketing of AC Home Central as our premium air conditioning solution that prioritises both performance and aesthetics,” said Shinji Miyata, President Director of PT Daikin Airconditioning Indonesia, on Saturday (6/6/2026).
According to Miyata, the growth of premium areas such as BSD and Cisauk presents significant opportunities for the air conditioning industry, particularly for cooling solutions that prioritise not only comfort but also interior design and space efficiency. The flagship products marketed through the Proshop network include Daikin AC Home Central, a central AC solution for modern homes and light commercial buildings. This system allows multiple indoor units to operate via a single outdoor unit, while offering a design that integrates seamlessly with room aesthetics. In addition to a modern appearance, the Daikin AC Home Central system features humidity control and multi-layered filtration to enhance indoor air quality.
Miyata emphasised that Daikin’s expansion in Tangerang aligns with the continuous growth of the national air conditioning market. The industry is valued at billions of US dollars, with demand driven by the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. “With the increasing public demand for indoor air quality and modern home aesthetics, the premium air conditioning segment is expected to become one of the most aggressively growing markets in the coming years,” he concluded.
Cahya Aji Kusuma, Owner of PT Alvamega Mitra Abadi, stated that the showroom’s location in The Icon Business Park was chosen because the area serves as a strategic route connecting upper-middle-class residences in BSD with new growth centres in Cisauk. “The high mobility in this area makes it a strategic point for us to be closer to consumers, including both homeowners and business owners,” he said.
The showroom features a modern minimalist concept with display areas designed to mimic real-world applications in homes and commercial buildings. Visitors can directly observe the use of VRV Home Series technology and the ceiling duct linear slot concept, which is currently a trend in modern air conditioning. Beyond product sales, the showroom also provides consultation services, air conditioning design, as well as installation and maintenance by certified technicians.
