Groups to work on conserving films

JAKARTA: The head of the National Library Hernandono and chairman of the Indonesian Film Archives Misbach Yusa Biran have signed an agreement in the management of audiovisual works.

Antara reported on Tuesday that the agreement was witnessed by Director General of Culture at the Ministry of Education and Culture Edi Sedyawati and Director General of Radio, Television and Film A. Aziz Husein.

Hernandono said the agreement was in line with a 1990 law on the documentation and management of fiction and documentary films.

The cooperation will ensure the preservation of examples of cultural heritage to be used in various disciplines of science, he said.
