Groundbreaking of Sumber Waras Hospital Set for August

The Jakarta Provincial Government will begin the groundbreaking for the construction of Sumber Waras Hospital in August 2026. Governor Pramono Anung stated that the hospital project, which has remained unresolved for approximately 14 years, will finally be completed. The facility is planned to be of international standard and will cater to patients with heart disease and cancer. The construction of Sumber Waras Hospital represents an effort to resolve unfinished matters from the leadership of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama. Pramono has previously confirmed that the legal issues surrounding the hospital have been concluded. The alleged corruption case regarding the land acquisition for Sumber Waras Hospital in West Jakarta first emerged in 2015 during the tenure of Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama. The case began when the Jakarta Audit Board submitted the 2014 Jakarta Provincial Government Financial Report. At that time, the Corruption Eradication Commission stated it found no unlawful elements in the alleged corruption related to the land purchase.
