The groundbreaking for the Garuda Bridge under Kodam III/Siliwangi was held in Bogor City, West Java. The presence of this bridge is expected to further facilitate the public in carrying out their activities in line with President Prabowo Subianto’s hopes.
Infrastructure development is being intensified again in the Bogor City area with the groundbreaking of the Garuda Bridge under Kodam III/Siliwangi on Thursday morning (9/4/2026). This bridge is located in RT 02/04, Harjasari Ward, South Bogor Subdistrict, Bogor City.
The construction of the Garuda Bridge scattered across Indonesia in disaster areas or regions that greatly need it is a programme of President Prabowo Subianto. KSAD General Maruli Simanjuntak was appointed as Dansatgas.
The first stone-laying event was led by Kasrem 061/Suryakancana Colonel Inf Yudi Ruskandar. Attending to accompany were Deputy Mayor of Bogor Jenal Mutaqin, Dandim 0606/Bogor City Colonel Kav Gan Gan Rusgandara, Bogor City Police Chief Combess Rio Wahyu Anggoro, Deputy Chairman of the DPRD, and others. This agenda was attended by around 75 participants from various sectors, including religious figures and the community.
“The construction of this bridge is a concrete form of the government’s commitment to improving regional connectivity,” said Dandim 0606/Bogor City Colonel Gan Gan in his remarks.
The construction of this bridge also demonstrates the close synergy between the Bogor City Government, Kodim 0606/Bogor City, and Polresta Bogor, showing that the state is present down to the community level in the ward. This bridge is expected to streamline public transportation access, making journeys faster, safer, and more comfortable, and impacting the improvement of community welfare.
Colonel Gan Gan urged the public to support the bridge construction process, even though its implementation may cause temporary disruptions such as dust or road narrowing. To the field implementers, he emphasised the importance of prioritising work safety principles, using quality materials, and timely completion.
Meanwhile, Kasrem 061/Suryakancana affirmed that bridge infrastructure development has strategic value in supporting economic accessibility and equitable development. The presence of this bridge is believed to shorten the distribution routes for goods and services, as well as encourage local economic growth.
Furthermore, the development is also seen as playing a role in strengthening community social resilience, particularly in supporting access to education, health services, and mobility during disaster management.
