Groom Calls Off Wedding After Bride-to-Be Flees to Hotel with Boyfriend

The groom, identified as M (33), was scheduled to marry NAS (19) on Thursday, 21 May. However, the wedding was called off after NAS fled with her boyfriend, DF (18). Police were alerted by the family and located NAS and DF in a hotel room in Jepara Regency early on Saturday, 23 May. Kapolsek Tlogowungu, AKP Mujahid, stated that mediation was conducted with the families, but no formal police report was filed. ‘There was no official report; the family of the woman requested our assistance in locating her,’ Mujahid explained. He confirmed the groom had decided to cancel the wedding, stating, ‘The groom has called it off and does not wish to proceed.’
