Grocery Stall in West Jakarta's Kalideres Sells Illegal Prescription Drugs, Two Suspects Arrested

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Kalideres Police Station arrested two suspects involved in distributing illegal prescription drugs under the guise of a grocery stall on Jalan Gaga Utama, Semanan, Kalideres, West Jakarta.

Kalideres Police Chief from the Metro Jakarta Barat Police Resort, Commissioner Rihold Sihotang, explained that the arrests stemmed from residents’ reports of unease over suspicious drug trading without permits.

Police immediately launched an investigation.

During the raid, two suspects were secured, including those with initials ZF (26) and MA (22).

Police also discovered hundreds of Group G prescription drug tablets of various types.

According to him, the drugs were hidden behind the groceries displayed on the shelves.

Buyers even had their own codes for purchasing the drugs.

In particular, regarding the circulation of unauthorised drugs that could endanger the public.

“We thank the residents for their courage in reporting. This proves that collaboration between the community and police is crucial in maintaining environmental security. We assure there is no room for criminals in this area,” said Rachmad.

The blue iron rolling door at the front of the shop was tightly closed.

Even the rack for storing bottles of retail fuel oil (BBM) appeared empty, without a single bottle inside.
