The Grand Haul of Kyai Ageng Kafiluddin K Munawar Kholil and Masyayikh at the Al Marom Islamic Boarding School in Menduran, Purwodadi, Grobogan Regency, not only served as a moment of worship and fellowship but also stimulated the local economy. Thousands of pilgrims arriving from various regions flocked to dozens of vendor stalls along the access road to the haul location. A variety of products, ranging from culinary items, clothing, and sandals to daily necessities, were sold out. Andi, a trader from Semarang, admitted he always attends the annual haul because it significantly boosts his income. Meanwhile, Widi, a seller of the local speciality lontong pecel, reported that her turnover increased two to three times despite keeping the price at Rp5,000 per portion. Central Java Vice Governor Taj Yasin Maimoen stated that religious activities like the haul have a tangible impact on the community’s economy. Along the journey to the location, he observed bustling trading activity. ‘I saw along the long road that all the merchandise was selling out,’ said Gus Yasin. The Grand Haul, which took place from 9 to 12 July 2026, was attended by thousands of pilgrims from various regions in Central Java, as well as from outside the province such as West Java and Jakarta. In addition to strengthening Islamic brotherhood and emulating the scholars, the event also served as a lever for economic turnover among residents around the Al Marom Menduran Islamic Boarding School.
