Griyawisata's new hotel

JAKARTA (JP): PT Griyawisata Management and Consultancy, a domestic hotel operator, will open early next year the Bintang Griyawisata, a three-star hotel on Jl. Raden Saleh, Central Jakarta.

The hotel's general manager, Ito R. Sukarmadji said over the weekend the 93-room hotel was owned by PT Bintang Wisata Mandiri, a company in which Griyawisata has a 30-percent stake.

He said the eight-story hotel, which occupies a 1360-square- meter plot, was constructed under a build, operate and transfer contract with the Air Force.

"Bintang Wisata will transfer the hotel to the Air Force within the next 30 years," he said.

He said the hotel, which launched its soft operation in September, would hold its grand opening next January.

"The occupancy rates reached 61 percent in September and 59 percent in October," he said.

Griyawisata, set up 15 years go, operates five hotels, including Tiara Hotel in Medan, North Sumatra; Bahari Inn in Tegal, Central Java; Cahaya Dewata Resort in Ubud and Pondok Balina in Candi Dasa, both in Bali.

Next year, the company plans to manage two other hotels, the 87-room Bhumi Cikini in Jakarta and the 165-room Bintang Sintuk in Bontang, East Kalimantan. (icn)
