Griyawisata extends contract

JAKARTA (JP): Domestic hotel chain operator Griyawisata Hotel & Resort has agreed to continue managing the one-star Tiara Medan Hotel and Convention Center of PT Tahta Medan.

Griyawisata said here yesterday that Tiara Medan is still one of the best hotels in North Sumatra, particularly in Medan, the province's capital.

Tahta Medan has decided to add 150 rooms by constructing a tower scheduled for completion by mid 1998.

With the additional rooms, Tiara Medan will have a total 350 rooms and is expected to be classified as a five-star hotel.

As a growing domestic hotel chain, Griyawisata currently runs several star-rated hotels including Bintang Griyawisata and the Bhumi Cikini in Jakarta which is still under construction. (icn)
