Griya Mahardhika General Hospital (RSU) has spoken out regarding the street protest by its former employees demanding the payment of outstanding wages. The hospital stated that mediation with the former employees has already taken place. “Actually, we have already had official mediation. But if the former employees wish to voice their aspirations, that is also their right. It is fine; we will still respond and accept it,” said RSU Griya Mahardhika representative Putri Agustiningtyas Kurniawati at the location on Saturday (27/6/2026). Putri confirmed that mediation had occurred with a mediator from the Bantul Manpower and Transmigration Office (Disnakertrans). She stated that RSU Griya Mahardhika Yogyakarta would follow the directions from the Bantul Disnakertrans. “The plan is to have another meeting to respond to their demands,” she said. Furthermore, Putri assured that the protesters’ demands would be forwarded to the Board of Directors of RSU Griya Mahardhika Yogyakarta. “From the hospital’s side, it has been conveyed from the beginning that the process will be adjusted. So, I will still convey this to management so that they can make a decision on how to respond to the employees’ demands,” she stated. A number of former employees of RSU Griya Mahardhika Yogyakarta held a demonstration, demanding their outstanding wages be paid. They visited RSU Griya Mahardhika in Druwo, Bangunharjo, Sewon, Bantul, on Saturday (27/6), carrying protest banners regarding the unpaid salaries. One of the banners read, ‘Kerjo kesel kui wajar, sek ora wajar kesel ora bayaran’ (It is normal to be tired from working; what is not normal is being tired from working but not being paid). One of the representatives of the crowd, Nurul Fitriah, said there are 36 former employees who have not received their remaining wages for four months. They have filed for termination of employment (PHK) over the wage issue. “The background to our demonstration today is the demand for our rights in the form of wages that have not been paid by RSU Griya Mahardhika Yogyakarta for four months,” she told reporters in Druwo, Sewon, Bantul, on Saturday (27/6).
