Griya Mahardika Hospital Responds to Ex-Employee Protest Over Unpaid Wages
Griya Mahardika General Hospital (RSU) has spoken out regarding the protest by its employees who took to the streets to demand the payment of remaining wages. The hospital stated that mediation has already been initiated with the former employees.
“In truth, we have already held official mediation. However, as our colleagues wish to express their aspirations, that is their right. We are prepared to respond and accept their presence,” said Putri Agustiningtyas Kurniawati, a representative of RSU Griya Mahardika, at the scene on Saturday (27/6/2026).
Putri admitted that mediation has been conducted with a mediator from the Bantul Manpower, Industry, and Trade Office (Disnakertrans Bantul). She noted that RSU Griya Mahardhika Jogja will follow the directives provided by the Bantul Manpower Office.
“There are plans for a follow-up meeting to determine how to respond to their specific demands,” she added.
Furthermore, Putri ensured that the demands of the protesters would be forwarded to the Board of Directors of RSU Griya Mahardika Jogja.
“From the hospital’s side, we have stated from the beginning that the process will be adjusted accordingly. I will convey their demands to the management so that a decision can be made on how to respond to the employees’ demands,” she said.
As information, a number of former employees of RSU Griya Mahardhika Jogja held a demonstration. They are demanding the payment of their remaining salaries.
They gathered at RSU Griya Mahardhika in Druwo, Bangunharjo, Sewon, Bantul, on Saturday (27/6). They carried protest banners regarding the unpaid wages.
One of the banners read, ‘Kerjo kesel kui wajar, sek ora wajar kesel ora bayaran’ (Working hard is natural; what is unnatural is working hard but not being paid).
One of the group representatives, Nurul Fitriah, stated that 36 former employees have not received their remaining wages for four months. They have already undergone termination of employment (PHK) due to the wage issues.
“The reason behind our protest today is the demand for our rights in the form of wages that have not been paid by RSU Griya Mahardhika Jogja for four months,” she told reporters in Druwo, Sewon, Bantul, on Saturday (27/6).
