Grim Details Emerge as Three Children Confess to Murdering Their Father and Leaving His Remains in the Forest
The discovery of a man’s remains, reduced to a skeleton, in the forest of Kampung Baru, Dusun Aitiris B, Desa Meotroi, Kecamatan Laenmanen, Kabupaten Malaka, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), has revealed disturbing facts. The man, identified as Antonius Nana (47), was murdered by his three children.
The perpetrators are YDA (27), ADN (18), and AN (17). YDA is the stepson, while ADN and AN are the biological sons. Antonius’s body was found on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
“The perpetrators are the victim’s stepson and biological sons. They have all been secured at the Malaka Police,” said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit (Kasat Reskrim) of the Malaka Police, Iptu Dominggus Duran, to detikBali on Saturday, June 16, 2026.
The murder began with an argument with his wife.
Dominggus explained that the murder started when Antonius returned from Malaysia on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. Upon arrival, he had an argument and used inappropriate language towards his wife, Leonarda Belak.
Seeing this, YDA reprimanded Antonius. Antonius did not accept this and immediately hit YDA, leading to a physical altercation between the two. After that, they separated, and Antonius left the house.
The following day, around 1:00 AM, Antonius returned home. Upon arrival, he had another argument with YDA. During the fight, YDA threw a wooden block at Antonius, hitting him in the neck, causing him to fall.
As he fell, ADN kicked Antonius, and they continued to assault him until he fainted. They then carried Antonius’s body behind the house, about 500 meters away, to bury him.
“So, they carried him together to the back of the house where there was a small river. They intended to bring a machete and a crowbar to bury the victim,” said the former Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Nagekeo Police.
The neck was slit while he was still alive.
When they arrived at the small river, YDA saw that his stepfather was still alive. He immediately took out a machete and slit Antonius’s throat twice, killing him.
After confirming that Antonius was dead, the three sons dug a hole to bury him. The case was eventually revealed after residents searched the area.
“At that time, they saw that their father was still alive, so the first son (YDA) took a machete and slit his throat twice until he died. Then they immediately buried him,” Dominggus concluded.
The roles of the three children
The police revealed the individual roles of the three perpetrators. “Each of the three perpetrators had different roles in the case,” said Dominggus.
He explained that in this case, YDA and ADN played a role in assaulting Antonius with a wooden block, hitting and kicking him until he fainted. In addition, YDA also slit Antonius’s throat while being carried to be buried.
Meanwhile, AN’s role was to help his two older brothers. Together, they carried Antonius to be buried and dug the grave.
“That’s why the youngest son (AN) is charged with participating because he only helped dig the grave,” said Dominggus.
Currently, YDA and ADN have been named as suspects. They are charged under Article 458 Paragraph (1) and (2) in conjunction with Article 20 paragraph c of the Criminal Code, with a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison. AN is still being investigated because the police are coordinating with the Kupang Child Protection Agency to provide assistance.
“The two adult perpetrators have been named as suspects and detained. Meanwhile, the minor perpetrator is still under investigation, but we have secured him at the Malaka Police,” said Dominggus.
According to Dominggus, the case was triggered by resentment because Antonius had abused and insulted his wife, Leonarda Belak, or the mother of the perpetrators. This made YDA, ADN, and AN angry and led them to kill their father.
“The main motive is resentment because the victim insulted his wife with inappropriate words,” Dominggus concluded.
Previously reported, Antonius’s body was reduced to bones in the forest. The Chief of Malaka Police, AKBP Riki Ganjar Gumilar, said that initially, a resident with the initials BB came to Antonius’s house to ask about his whereabouts on Monday, May 11, 2026, at around 8:00 AM. However, only Antonius’s wife, Leonarda Belak, was at home.
Leonarda said that her husband had left the house since Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at around 9:00 PM after they had an argument. The argument started when Antonius was cutting a sack of corn. After the incident, Antonius immediately left the house.
Because he did not return, the family reported him missing to the Laenmanen Police Station. After searching for several days, Antonius was finally found in a terrible condition in the Kalalaran river area, Desa Meotroi, on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at around 1:30 PM.
“After receiving the report, police officers and residents searched. The victim had been missing from home since April 28, 2026, and when he was found, only his skull remained,” said Riki to detikBali on Friday, May 15, 2026.
