GRIB Jaya to File Counter-Police Report Against Ahmad Bahar Over Defamation
GRIB Jaya will file a counter-report against writer Ahmad Bahar for allegedly defaming their chairman, Hercules. “We will file a police report shortly,” said GRIB Jaya’s Legal and Advocacy Chief, Novianus Martin Bau, during a press conference at the group’s headquarters on Sunday, 24 May 2026. Previously, Hercules was reported to the Jakarta Metropolitan Police for allegedly kidnapping, threatening with a bladed weapon, and forcing Ahmad Bahar’s daughter to remove her hijab. He also reminded Gufroni to verify the facts first regarding the incident. “When handling any case, we must verify the truth to avoid creating narratives that cause public unrest,” he added. He took Ilma to GRIB Jaya’s West Jakarta headquarters to find out how the writer’s daughter obtained his wife’s WhatsApp number. Hercules’ wife reportedly received threatening WhatsApp messages allegedly from Ilma’s personal number, which Ahmad Bahar frequently uses. Previously, Ilma gave her testimony after being taken to GRIB Jaya’s headquarters in West Jakarta on Sunday, 17 May 2026. Ilma recounted being forced to accompany several people who came to her home in Cimanggis, Depok, to search for her father. She said four people initially arrived at her home, but the number increased, causing her to feel afraid.
