GRIB Jaya Denies Abduction of Ahmad Bahar's Daughter: Do Not Twist the Facts
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - GRIB Jaya denied the allegations of kidnapping and hostage-taking of F (33), the daughter of the author Ahmad Bahar, when she was taken to the GRIB Jaya headquarters, Kedoya, West Jakarta, on Sunday (17 May 2026).
Public Relations and Publications Head of the DPP GRIB Jaya, Marselinus Gual, deemed the allegations as not credible and merely steering public opinion.
“If their side continues to reverse the facts with a hostage-taking or kidnapping narrative, that is clearly fabricated and implausible,” Marselinus said in a written statement on Thursday (21 May 2026).
“The public knows very well who Mr. Hercules is. He is a figure who is very social, humanitarian, and has long been known to be very close to and caring for orphans,” Marselinus said.
He emphasised that the arrival of GRIB Jaya members at Ahmad Bahar’s home was conducted openly and accompanied by local authorities.
According to Marselinus, a similar approach was taken when F was taken to the DPP GRIB Jaya headquarters in Kedoya, West Jakarta.
He said F was brought in for clarification because her phone appeared to have been used to send provoking videos and threats to Hercules’s wife’s personal number.
“The questions asked by Mr. Hercules to Ahmad Bahar’s daughter were a logical, humane, and reasonable response from a husband and head of the household whose privacy and the honour of his family had been compromised by strangers,” he said.
According to him, Ahmad Bahar’s daughter was in an open space and accompanied by the local RW chairperson.
“When at the DPP office, Ahmad Bahar’s child was asked directly in a public or open space, witnessed by many people and accompanied closely by the RW chairperson,” he said.
GRIB Jaya also claimed that Hercules only offered advice to F regarding the matter.
“Mr. Hercules was actually advising Ahmad Bahar’s daughter in a kind manner, like a parent to a child,” said Marselinus.
In addition, GRIB Jaya stated that the dispute between Ahmad Bahar and Hercules had in fact been resolved through mediation at Depok Metro Police.
