GRIB Community Organisation Post in South Kedoya Set Ablaze, 40 Personnel Deployed
The post of the GRIB community organisation (ormas) located at Jalan Manunggal V No.58 2, South Kedoya, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta, caught fire in the early hours of Monday (31/8).
Syaiful Kahfi, Head of Operations for the West Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat), stated that his office received the fire report at 02:49 WIB. Officers moved immediately one minute later and arrived at the location at 02:56 WIB.
“As soon as we received the report at 02:49 WIB, the unit departed at 02:50 WIB. We arrived at the location at 02:56 WIB and immediately began firefighting efforts,” Syaiful said in a statement on Monday (31/8).
He explained that seven units with a strength of 35 personnel were deployed in the first stage. The personnel included three units from the Kembangan Sector, one unit from the Puri Sakti Post, and three units from the Kebon Jeruk Sector. “The fire was successfully localised by 03:06 WIB. This was followed by a cooling process to ensure no remaining hotspots could reignite,” he added.
To ensure the firefighting process was optimal, officers later added one unit from the Jalan C Post with five personnel. Consequently, the total strength deployed reached eight units and 40 personnel.
Syaiful noted that the firefighting and cooling processes were relatively rapid. The operation was declared complete at 03:28 WIB. “The situation is now safe and the firefighting operation is declared finished,” he concluded.
