Gresik SEZ Absorbs 30 Percent of National SEZ Investment, Valued at Over Rp106.3 Trillion
Gresik Special Economic Zone (SEZ) has absorbed 30 percent of national SEZ investments, with a value exceeding Rp106.3 trillion. By 2025, this zone recorded an investment uptake of Rp106.3 trillion, equivalent to about 30 percent of the total investments across all Indonesian SEZs, which reached Rp336 trillion.
The zone’s success is attributed to its strategic location and infrastructure developments, including the Java Integrated Industrial and Ports Estate (JIIPE) in Manyar district. Key projects involve smelters and processing facilities, with involvement from major players like Freeport, enhancing downstream industries in mining and metals.
This milestone reflects robust investor confidence in Gresik’s potential, supported by government incentives and regulatory frameworks for SEZs, positioning it as a vital contributor to Indonesia’s economic ambitions.
