The Gresik Regency Government in East Java has distributed direct cash assistance (BLT) from the Tobacco Excise Revenue Sharing Fund (DBHCHT) and food aid in the form of rice to 10,195 residents of Dukun District to strengthen social protection for the community.

Gresik Regent Fandi Akhmad Yani said the distribution of the assistance is a form of the government’s commitment to ensuring that the benefits of DBHCHT and the food aid programme are received by communities in need.

“This step is a concrete effort by the regional government to strengthen the social safety net and maintain community food security,” he said while handing over the assistance symbolically in Dukun District, Gresik Regency, East Java.

A total of 263 Beneficiary Families (KPM) received DBHCHT cash assistance amounting to Rp900,000, paid in one lump sum. Meanwhile, food aid for the July-September 2026 allocation, in the form of 30 kilograms of rice, was distributed to 9,932 residents.

“This assistance is not merely a figure in the regional budget, but must return to and be directly felt by the community,” he said.

Head of the Gresik Regency Social Service Umi Khoiroh said Dukun District has more than six hectares of tobacco land, making it one of the beneficiary areas.

She said the distribution of the food aid was carried out through cooperation between the Gresik Regency Government, PT Pos Indonesia, and Perum Bulog Surabaya Branch Office.
