Greeting Returnees in Bakauheni, Police Chief Distributes Packages and Dolls

Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo inspected the Eid return flow at Bakauheni Port, South Lampung, on Saturday afternoon (28/3). While monitoring the situation in the waiting room, Sigit took the opportunity to have light conversations with several pedestrian returnees. Sigit asked about their places of origin and destinations while giving safety reminders. “Minal aidzin walfaidzin. Where are you from and where are you heading?” Sigit said to one of the returnees waiting for the ship departure schedule at Bakauheni Port. The returnee said he was heading to Kalideres, West Jakarta. Sigit advised them to remain vigilant during the journey. “Be careful on the road, take care of your health and belongings. Hopefully you arrive safely,” he said. The presence of the top figure in the Bhayangkara Corps was enthusiastically welcomed by the returnees. Many of them took the opportunity to shake hands and take selfies. Sigit also distributed gift packages containing snacks and mineral water to the returnees for their journey provisions. Not only that, Sigit also gave dolls to the children of returnees to entertain them amid the queues. During his working visit, Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo was accompanied by the Head of Traffic Corps of the National Police Irjen Agus Suryonugroho, Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi, Lampung Governor Rahmat Mirzani Djausal, Lampung Police Chief Irjen Helfi Assegaf, and several main police officials. Previously, Sigit claimed that the accident rate during the 2026 Eid mudik and return flows decreased by up to 7.8 percent compared to 2025. He said this decrease occurred amid an increase in the number of returnees by 20.49 percent or reaching 2.9 million people from 2025. “Of course, I also thank the public and all members who this year managed to keep the accident rate, especially regarding fatalities, reduced,” he said after monitoring the Eid return flow at Bakauheni Port, Lampung, on Saturday afternoon (28/3).
