Green SM has officially launched its electric motorcycle service in Jakarta. Edison Mai, CEO of VGreen, announced the launch directly via a post on his official LinkedIn account.

“Tomorrow, 16 September 2026, Green SM electric scooters will officially hit the streets in Jakarta,” said Mai.

He stated that he had personally tested his company’s new service, noting that the electric vehicles operate very quietly.

“The most impressive thing for me was not the technology, but the silence. Navigating a city of 11 million people in such profound silence,” he explained.

In the post, Mai explained that this experience is made possible by the charging and battery-swapping network currently being developed by his company.

The introduction of this new service follows the initial operational launch in Jakarta in 2024. The electric taxi service has since expanded to several regions, including Bekasi, Bali, Palembang, and Bandar Lampung.

Green SM, also known as Xanh SM, originates from Vietnam. Established in 2023, the company offers eco-friendly and smart vehicle rental services.

Beyond Indonesia, its operations are spread across Laos, the Philippines, India, and Kazakhstan. In Indonesia, the Green SM motorcycle ride-hailing service is set to become a new competitor to Gojek and Grab, as well as smaller platforms such as Maxim and InDrive.
