TANGERANG SELATAN, KOMPAS.com - The construction project for the Green SM Taxi Pool on Jalan Ciater Raya, Serua, Ciputat, Tangerang Selatan, has caused slippery road conditions due to muddy runoff that previously endangered motorists.

“Do not let such incidents happen again; at the very least, the mud should not flow onto the road. The public could be harmed,” said Deputy Mayor of Tangerang Selatan Pilar Saga Ichsan during a surprise inspection at the site on Tuesday (5/5/2026).

The incident occurred after mud from the project flowed onto the road surface, causing traffic congestion.

During the inspection, Pilar immediately met with the contractors who were carrying out cut and fill work.

He highlighted the impact of the project on the surrounding environment, particularly regarding drainage systems and runoff water control.

According to Pilar, every development area should have its own drainage system and not burden public road drainage.

“The drainage outside is built for rainwater so that the road does not flood. But for this area, it should have its own drainage,” he said.

He also emphasised that drainage construction should be a priority before the main work begins.

In a firm tone, Pilar urged the developers to carry out immediate repairs, including digging drainage channels, even though the project has not yet fully commenced.

“That is the responsibility of the area and the developers to carry out arrangement and maintenance,” he said.

Upon directly inspecting the project area, Pilar found no adequate drainage system at the location.

Therefore, he requested that the channels be built immediately to prevent mud from flowing onto the main road again.

“With the incident last night, I conveyed to the company that a environmental drainage channel must be built here for the project,” said Pilar.
