Green SM Taxi Management to be Questioned by Police on Monday Regarding Bekasi Train Accident

Polda Metro Jaya will question the management of Green SM taxi regarding the fire accident involving the Argo Bromo Anggrek train and the Cikarang-bound KRL at Bekasi Timur Station on Monday (4/5/2026). “On Monday, investigators will also seek statements from the Spatial Planning Agency, Public Works Agency, and Green Taxi parties,” said the Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto, in a written statement confirmed by Kompas.com on Sunday (3/5/2026). In addition to the taxi parties, investigators will also seek statements from the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation. Investigators have also conducted scene processing (TKP), collected evidence, traced CCTV recordings, coordinated with hospitals regarding victims, and requested autopsies. The accident case involving the KRL, KA Argo Bromo Anggrek, and Green SM taxi has escalated to the investigation stage. “This has escalated to the investigation stage. Scene checks, witness examinations, evidence collection, and CCTV deepening have been carried out,” said Budi at Silang Timur Monas, Thursday (30/4/2026). Police are still investigating the cause of the electric taxi stopping at the Ampera level crossing. According to Budi, no suspects have been named because the Puslabfor of National Police Headquarters is still examining the exact cause of the incident. “If it’s a witness, no detention has been carried out, we clarify. So if it’s a witness, we still need the person for some statements,” said Budi. From initial examinations, the driver claimed the car door could not be opened because the engine was off. He then exited through the window after restarting the vehicle. Previously, police had examined 24 witnesses. Seven more witnesses were examined on Friday, including the station control centre head, train traffic controllers (PPKA), signal officers, KRL drivers, Argo Bromo Anggrek train drivers, assistant drivers, and control officers. The accident occurred on Monday (27/4/2026) around 20:52 WIB on the platform of Bekasi Timur Station, precisely at KM 28+920.
