Green SM Taxi Breaks Silence on Train Accident Incident in East Bekasi
Green SM Indonesia has spoken out regarding one of its vehicles involved in a train accident incident at Bekasi Timur Station on Monday (27/4). In a statement on its Instagram account @id.greensm, the electric taxi company stated that it is paying full attention to the incident at the crossing near Bekasi Timur Station, which involved one Green SM vehicle and a passing train. “We have provided relevant information to the authorities and fully support the ongoing investigation process,” read the official statement from Green SM Indonesia. Green SM Indonesia also expressed its commitment to maintaining safety standards and continuously improving services. “Safety remains our top priority. We are committed to upholding high safety standards through operational systems, supervision, and continuous service improvements,” the statement continued. “We will continue to provide the latest updates as verified information becomes available,” Green SM Indonesia added. According to the latest information from KAI, five passengers have now died in the long-distance train accident with the KRL at Bekasi Timur Station. “The current update on casualties is five deaths. There are around three still trapped,” said KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin, as quoted by detikcom. Meanwhile, 79 passengers sustained injuries and have been evacuated to several healthcare facilities in the Bekasi area. Indonesian Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi stated that evacuation efforts are being maximised, prioritising the safety of victims and accelerating handling at the site. “We are focusing on evacuation and victim handling efforts with all our might. For the cause of the incident, we leave it to the KNKT to investigate more deeply,” he said.
