Green SM Issues Statement on Bekasi Timur Train Accident, Supports Investigation
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Green SM Indonesia has spoken out regarding the accident at the Bekasi Timur Station crossing. The incident involved a company vehicle colliding with a train on Monday night (27/4/2026).
The event led to a collision between the KA Argo Bromo Anggrek and the KRL Commuter Line around 20.52 WIB.
Green SM Indonesia, managed by PT Xanh SM Green and Smart Mobility Indonesia (GSM Indonesia), stated that it is giving full attention to the matter. The company also supports the investigation process.
“We have provided relevant information to the authorities and fully support the ongoing investigation process,” wrote Green SM management via its Instagram account @id.greensm on Tuesday (28/4/2026).
“Safety remains our top priority. We are committed to maintaining high safety standards through operational systems, supervision, and continuous service improvements,” wrote Green SM.
The company stated it will provide further updates once information is verified.
KAI Daop 1 Jakarta previously reported that the incident occurred on the platform at Bekasi Timur Station KM 28+920 at 20.52 WIB. The event began when PLB 5568A (CL KPB-CKR) was hit by PLB 4B (KA Argo Bromo Anggrek on the Gambir-Surabaya Pasar Turi route).
Officers quickly handled the situation and secured the location. Coordination was carried out to expedite evacuation and restore services.
Data up to 08.45 WIB recorded 14 people dead. 84 people were injured and received treatment at several hospitals.
KAI stated that the evacuation process was conducted carefully and in a coordinated manner. Several victims require special handling.
KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication, Anne Purba, conveyed condolences.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the deceased victims and their bereaved families, as well as to all affected customers,” she said in an official statement on Tuesday (28/4/2026).
“Our current focus is to ensure every victim receives the best care, families get the information they need, and all processes proceed with caution and strong coordination,” added Anne.
